The Legendary Dr. Greg

Tuesday, November 4th, 2003

My dad got himself a new car:

0-60 in under 6 seconds, 287 horsepower… and I even like the color.

Keith has a new (to him; it’s a ‘98) Mustang SVT Cobra, too, but I don’t have a picture for that. The Starr Family continues its proud automotive tradition, and stays true to the motto of the patriarch, the legendary Duke Starr: “Money’s no good until you spend it.”

Amen.

_Now where’s my bicycle…_

The ring

Tuesday, October 14th, 2003

I suppose that people are going to want to see the ring, so here’s a picture.

(Platinum filigree with a round cut sapphire)

Down with diamond hegemony! Overthrow the DeBeers pigdogs and their monopolistic price-fixing! Support artificial gemstones! etc.

…and a woman’s heart.

Pure autumn weather on the day before my birthday.

Over the last week or so, It’s been cloudy, rainy, and windy, but the last two days have seen brilliantly clear weather with huge cumulus clouds and a sky so blue you can hear it. I took it upon myself to capture what of that rapidly-changing beauty I could. More resolution would be nice, but this is a cell phone we’re talking about.

Saturday night at Maeva’s house, it was perfectly clear. The night sky was amazing—the Milky Way was clearly visible, and Mars dominated its corner of the cosmos.

Crane

Monday, September 22nd, 2003

The first published image from my new phone was taken on the bus between Himeji station and Shounishiguchi.

It was an origami crane flawlessly folded out of a discarded candy wrapper, laid on the edge of the window-frame in the bus. It was no more than two centimeters long.

I left it there.

Probably the most boring site ever.

But it’s still my school and I have to grin at the fact that it has a web site. I think you can listen to the school song if you can play .wma files—I can’t, but then again, I’ve heard the song a few times.

In the picture currently on the front page are the big striped pylons that decorate the front gate while the festivities are underway. Nothing says “festive” like a huge candycane-looking pillar. No, really.

Mmm… candycane…

Photos from Toufukuji

I’ve overcome the inertia necessary to get some pictures from the summer uploaded. The pictures from our (that is, Julia’s, Bianca’s, and my) excursion to this lovely temple in the foothills of the old capital are now available in the usual place.
