…if only it hadn’t been a CCG. I can’t afford CCGs, but I can afford the odd custom card game, if I know I’m getting the whole set, the complete enchilada, in one fell swoop. Nonetheless, I might make an exception, simply because a Penny Arcade Card Game is a great idea.

Does anybody else know about this book, or is it only news to me? The premise is intriguing: a fairy tale book with clues to actual treasure in it. The book was published in November of last year, and so far none of the 12 items have been found. Makes me want to go on a road trip…

Marxy knows much more about the Japanese music industry than I do. He’s also much, much more articulate about it than I am. Lots of what he writes is fascinating—take this piece, all about the immense power that Jimusho (agencies) have over the artists they represent.
How does anything remotely creative happen in this climate? Maybe it’s nothing to do with creativity, and everything to do with reputation—maybe you can record whatever you want as long as you don’t piss off the boss.
