Y’know, my friend Chris had a knack for finding really, really good music when he wasn’t wallowing in the Angels of Light or Godspeed You Black Emperor. A serious knack. Nokko was one such find of his, and this song served as the closing theme for our nerd game—you know, Legend of the Five Rings, an Oriental-themed role-playing game. Shut up. Shut up, damn you.

Merciless torment aside, it’s a very mellow, very chill tune. Great beat. Good bass. Sultry vocals. Enjoy.

I wonder how typical my answers were. Demographically, I’m one in a vast sea of young, paste-colored males—and not a particularly vital example, at that. Socially, I’m a god-damned shut-in. And I barely use email anymore. Surely you can top that, yes?

The Great Wheel

I have not talked about it a great deal, but the bicycle project has continued. Not only have I ordered the balance of the parts I need to complete the device, I have also built the wheels.

This is actually a big deal. Bicycle wheel-building is regarded as one of the most difficult tasks within the purview of the bike mechanic, second only to frame design and fabrication. I was hesitant to try for that reason, but when my hubs were delivered recently, I decided to give it a go.

Movin’

There is lots of unbelievably stressful minutiae that I have to do now. If you think “unbelievably stressful” and “minutiae” are mutually exclusive sets—well, you are a much more well-adjusted person than I. I have a whole panoply of details to worry about, ranging from wedding cake-tasting to moving to Hawaii.
